Matt has been helping families work toward their financial goals for more than thirty years, advising clients both locally and nationwide. Matt’s greatest strength is listening to his client’s aspirations, goals, and values, and working with them to create a realistic plan to align their financial resources with their visions. During this process, Matt helps his clients to better understand seemingly complex financial concepts so that together they can make informed and intelligent decisions.
After graduating in 1981 with a BBA from the University of Texas, Matt began his career advising faculty regarding their retirement plans at the University of Texas, Texas A&M University, and Texas State University. As an Investment Adviser Representative of LPL Financial, Matt holds FINRA Series 6, 7, 63, and 65 securities registrations through LPL Financial. He also has Life, Health and Disability insurance licenses including the Long Term Care certificate required by the State of Texas. Additionally, he holds the designation of Chartered Retirement Planning CounselorSM from the College for Financial Planning.
Living in Austin since 1977, Matt and his wife Cindy enjoy an active, outdoor lifestyle: hiking, skiing, running, scuba diving and exploring mountain trails in their old Jeep. Matt and Cindy are also the proud parents of two grown children, son Matt Jr. and daughter Layne.

Matthew received degrees in Business and International Studies, with a minor in Mandarin Chinese from Southern Methodist University. He has worked for the Department of the Treasury in Washington, DC, as well as the private sector. His diverse background brings a solid understanding of the challenges involved in planning for a sound retirement and being prepared for the future. As an Investment Adviser Representative of LPL Financial, Matthew currently holds FINRA Series 7 and 66 securities registrations through LPL Financial. He also has Life, Health and Disability insurance licenses as required by the State of Texas. Additionally, he is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM professional, and holds the designation of Chartered Retirement Planning CounselorSM.
Matthew and his wife Megan enjoy calling Austin home and chasing around their young daughters. When not at work, he can be found backpacking, scuba diving, reading, or generally dreaming of their next travel adventure.
Jessica was born and raised in Columbia, MO, where she completed her B.A. in Business Administration from Columbia College. She has spent time in the hospitality field, working as an office manager and assisting clients across the country. With strong attention to detail and a cheery disposition, Jessica brings her administrative background and customer service skills to her role as our Advisory Services Coordinator.
Jessica and her husband Dwayne have made Austin their home and are active in the community, frequently volunteering at the Central Texas Food Bank. In addition, they are active exercisers and have been known to attend a Comic-Con or two. And don’t ask Jessica about her dogs Brutus and Barry unless you’re prepared to see photos!
